POSITION SUMMARY
Under direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Marketing/Business Development is responsible for developing and presenting marketing/business development assistance plans and activities using multiple modes of media to advertise and communicate key messages to the community. The position also assists senior management team in identifying, developing and executing the district’s strategic plan on existing and new programs. The Director of Marketing/Business Development frequently collaborates with hospital stakeholders, physicians, community, and department managers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Contributes to marketing/business effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range concerns that must be addressed; providing information and commentary recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
• Assist senior management on development, evaluation and execution of new business lines, or enhancing existing business lines.
• Regular involvement with Managed Care Contracting as it applies to district marketing.
• Responsible for all brand exposure to targeted markets.
• Develops: marketing collateral, print, web, radio, video. key messages and promote internal and external communication regarding messages.
• Develop and maintain media relations and execute editorials as appropriate.
• Develops strategic marketing and communication plan annually and programs for each line of service, directing promotional support.
• Assists with business development startups and program development.
• Develop brand positioning and awareness in the marketplace and online.
• Maintains relations with the community, determining district presence at various community events throughout the year.
• Assists in community philanthropy and Foundation growth.
• Maintains research database by identifying and assembling marketing information.
• Deliberate planning and goal setting for all social media marketing efforts.
• Content management for all online and print advertising.
• Responsible for developing and implementing marketing and business development strategies. blogging, creating social media profiles, managing regular posts, and responding to followers.
• Works with graphic designers, printers and media developers to develop content and creative for ads, brochures and other necessary collateral.
• Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual marketing budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Be part of an integral team evaluating and executing new business as assigned.
• All other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) Required:
• College degree or equivalent experience in related field. healthcare preferred.
Education Preferred
• College degree in Marketing, communications and\or Business Development.
Minimum Experience
• 5 years in Marketing, Business development or related experience.
• Valid California Driver’s License
Experience Preferred
• Previous experience in a hospital or other healthcare institution.
• Client relationships, SEO knowledge, copywriting skills, social media, business development.
Skills
• Excellent verbal communication, public speaking and listening skills.
• Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must have the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
