Healthcare District Brings Cardiology to the Mountain

Interventional cardiology added to new services offered by BVCHD

BIG BEAR LAKE – The Bear Valley Community Healthcare District welcomes John Zamarra, M.D. and new in-person appointments available for interventional cardiology, including an array of tests and screenings to ensure your heart is as healthy as can be.

Dr. Zamarra is based out of Laguna Beach and is affiliated with several top hospitals including Placentia-Linda Hospital, Kindred Hospital in Brea, Adventist Hospital in Sonora and now Bear Valley Community Hospital. He received his medical degree from and completed his residency at University at Buffalo School of Medicine. He is board certified, boasts a 5-star patient experience rating from U.S. News and World Report and will be in Big Bear four days a month to see local patients. Dr. Zamarra took a year off to study alternative medicine overseas and promotes preventative measures and lifestyle changes to improve heart health.

Among several of his services, Zamarra will be offering stress treadmill tests, echocardiogram and stress echocardiograms, minimally invasive cardiac testing as well as Holter and long-term monitoring.
