The Bear Valley Community Healthcare District (BVCHD) welcomes a new Clinical Therapist at the Family Health Center.
Samantha Tuminaro is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has spent her career working in community mental health, medical social work and case management. In her experience, she has worked with populations from various walks of life and provides individual counseling to a wide range of ages. She is committed to empowering her clients with the tools, training and knowledge they need to navigate life’s challenges.
Samantha’s therapeutic approach is the belief that the counseling process is a collaborative effort, with clients as the experts in their own lives. “I’m passionate about living and working in my community and I believe in community health, we don’t just heal individuals; we nurture families, strengthen neighborhoods, and cultivate a culture of care,” said Tuminaro, who moved to Big Bear from Chicago.
Tuminaro has more than 15 years’ case management experience in acute inpatient, emergency room, rehab and community mental health as well as more than five years’ experience as part of a hospital leadership team. She treats everything from PTSD to depressive disorder and anxiety.
“Providing mental and behavioral health services and therapy is a key component to building a health community and translates to so many other aspects of physical health and providing a foundation for healthy relationships,” said BVCHD Chief Executive Officer Evan Rayner.
Tuminaro is said Big Bear is a perfect fit because she loves the mountain and snowboarding. She also loves road trips, music and her 8-year-old lab named Pete. She is currently accepting new patients. For set up your appointment please call the BVCHD Family Health Center at 909.878.8246.
