Living in a remote mountain community can be wonderful, but it can also be stressful, especially when you need surgical services typically available only in larger metropolitan areas.
At BVCHD, we’ve made it our mission to make medical services as convenient as possible for our local community members. That includes employing world-class surgeons trained to perform a wide range of procedures right here in Big Bear Valley.
From general surgeries like biopsies and colonoscopies to cataract surgery and total joint replacements, our team of professionals is ready to support your surgical health journey.
Bear Valley Community Healthcare District is equipped to support both general and specialized surgeries using traditional, endoscopic and laparoscopic methods.
General surgeries may include things like emergency procedures to treat appendicitis or elective procedures like hernia repair, varicose vein treatment, gastric bypass or biopsy. Often, general surgeons will prioritize minimally invasive techniques to reduce recovery time and pain.
More specialized surgeries may be conducted by BVCHD’s specialist team, including orthopedic surgery (joint replacement, arthroscopic repair, fracture setting) and ophthalmologic surgery (cataract, corneal, retinal, glaucoma).
Depending on your needs, you may be seen and scheduled for surgery after a trip BVCHD’s Emergency Department. Otherwise, you may wish to schedule an appointment with one of our specialists, who will meet to discuss your personal healthcare needs.
