The Bear Valley Community HealthCare District Foundation was formed in December, 1996 as an ongoing source of fundraising and public relations for the HealthCare District. We are proud to work alongside our donors; volunteers; physicians and employees; and our friends in the community who have contributed significant resources over the years to help Bear Valley Community Hospital to achieve the vision “to be the premier provider of emergency medical and healthcare services in our Big Bear Valley”.

Each year, on the second Saturday of November, a beautiful pine tree on the Hospital Campus is lit at dusk. Everyone is invited to purchase a symbolic light, in honor of, or in memory of a loved one. These names are read aloud at the ceremony.

The primary focus of the Foundation is to generate charitable giving and to identify ways to use donations to improve and enhance the Healthcare District as it strives to provide more comprehensive medical care and emergency services for the Big Bear Valley.
The Foundation donated $90,000 to the hospital in 2023, including $50,000 generously donated by Ann Petersen and Leslie Pam to specifically assist in the purchase of life-saving in-patient dialysis machines.
We are immensely grateful to Tony and Eeva Tamberchi, who donated $10,000 for two IV pumps.
