Support Groups at Bear Valley Community Hospital

Bear Valley Community Healthcare District cares about the health and safety of  the greater Big Bear community. That extends beyond just physical health to emotional health, as well. That’s why we offer a series of free, ongoing support groups addressing various topics of interest to those we serve. The following is a list of current support groups. Groups meet either in person or remotely. Check the specific support group listing for details.

Building Resilience (In-person)
Tuesdays, 3pm-4pm

Feeling down, stressed or overwhelmed? We are excited to share with you our upcoming support group, “Building Resilience.” This group is a great opportunity to connect with others and obtain skills/tools to overcome life’s hardships through resilience.

Where: 41820 Garstin Drive, Big Bear Lake

Journey Through Grief (In-person)
Fridays, 2pm-3:30pm

This open group is a safe place to express emotions surrounding an experienced loss, adjusting to life after the loss, and coping with the changes within oneself and the world after a loss takes place.

Walk-ins are welcome; registration not required.

Caregiver Support Group (Remote)
Wednesdays, 1pm

Serving as a primary caregiver for a loved one can be emotional, isolating, and exhausting. That’s why we’re launching a 12-week online caregiver support group. This professionally-facilitated group will provide practical care-giving tools, burnout prevention techniques, and a community who understands what you’re going through.  
Parkinson’s Support Group (In-person)
Wednesdays, 2:30pm
Are you dealing with a Parkinson’s diagnosis? BVCHD is launching an in-person support group for those in our community impacted by Parkinson’s disease. This group is geared toward those living with Parkinson’s, but care partners are also welcome to attend.
